Call to Special Meeting

CALL TO MEETING
The Electronic Association of Parliamentarians will hold a special meeting on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 7:30PM Central Time for the purpose of electing permanent officers for a two-year term expiring at the 2019 annual meeting.

In accordance with our bylaws and provisos, nominations for the offices of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer will be made from the floor. All officers must be members of EAP, and the treasurer must be a resident of the United States. To assist in the nomination process, all individuals interested in serving in any capacity may notify the secretary who will submit the name of each individual who meets the eligibility criteria.

The meeting will be conducted using FreeConferenceCall.com, which offers over 63 international dial-in numbers (Japan and Malaysia included). For those residing in countries not supported, we can provide support for VoIP to ensure global participation.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
As the mass meeting was conducted with representatives from each unit, the first special meeting of the association for the purpose of electing officers requires a membership registration process. By registering, you will be able to register for the meeting and participate in any ballot vote. All members must complete this registration process.  Your application will be reviewed for completeness by the secretary and approved quickly.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION
Event registration for this first event is two-fold. After the secretary has reviewed and approved your application, you can login as a member and subsequently register to attend the meeting. There is no cost for registration, which closes 48 hours prior to the meeting. Dial-in instructions to those who’ve registered will be sent on Monday, October 16 and to any last minute registrants on Wednesday, October 18. Please register as early as possible to avoid issues.

BALLOT VOTING
Unless there is only one nominee for each office, voting will be conducted by ballot. To vote, you be logged in as a member. You should ensure if participating solely by a mobile device that you have the ability to use data and voice simultaneously. In order to test the voting feature, you may visit our demo ballot after your application is submitted and approved by the secretary.
